According to THR, Madison Taylor Baez (“Selena: The Series”) has joined the cast of “Let the Right One In”, an adaptation currently in development by Showtime.

The actress will play a young vampire who the story will center on.

After being bitten by a mysterious creature, Eleanor (Baez) and her father, Mark (Demián Bichir), are forced to live in the shadows and commit terrible acts to keep her alive. Upon her return to New York, Eleanor forges a friendship that rekindles her desire to regain her humanity, even as her condition exposes her more animal side.

The cast also includes Anika Noni Rose (“THEM”), Grace Gummer (“Mr. Robot”), Kevin Carroll (“Snowfall”), Jacob Buster (“Colony”) and Ian Foreman.

Seith Mann (‘Homeland’) will be in charge of directing the pilot.

The production is based on the novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which has resulted in two adaptations for the big screen, the Swedish “Deixa Ela Enter” (2008) and the American “Let me Enter” (2010).

Andrew Hinderaker (“Penny Dreadful”) will be the showrunner for the series.

“This series will be a love letter to the original film and will also go its own way,” Hinderaker said in a statement. “And hiring an amazing actor like Demián builds on our daring mission to create one of the scariest series on television, yet be one of the most exciting.”

New information should be published soon.
