Linda Hamilton needed convincing to watch ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’

During an interview with the AV Club, Linda Hamilton revealed that she had to be convinced to go to the movies to watch ‘Terminator: Dark Destiny’, which marked her return to the franchise.

The Sarah Connor interpreter said she hated seeing her own image on screen and clarified that she only watched the film in consideration of director Tim Miller.

“I’ve only watched ‘Dark Destiny’ once because I hate seeing my own image, I find it so strange… I’ve had this feeling since I was young. They must have convinced me to go to the movies and I only went out out of consideration for [Tim] Miller, I like this guy. Behind the scenes, he and the cast rocked me after saying I wouldn’t watch. I should have kept it a secret. The actress joked.

Hamilton previously told The Hollywood Reporter that “I’d be happy never to return to the franchise.”

“Cinema shouldn’t be a high-risk business with millions of dollars at stake,” she said. “Today’s audiences are so unpredictable and I can’t remember how many times I’ve been told, ‘Well, people don’t go to the movies anymore’. So I would be happy never to return to the franchise. I have no hope on this, I’m tired.

“ Terminator: Dark Fate ” promised to save the essence of the franchise and be the first in a new trilogy, but Hamilton believes the film lacked the capacity to do so.

“I don’t think Sarah and John would continue this story if they were happy and safe. John’s death was new fuel for Sarah Connor to return to battle, and that was a very good point. But I don’t think it would support new footage. I usually don’t stick to ideas from the past, it would be more interesting if the script had a different point of view.

Despite the criticism, the actress said she had a blast and loved playing alongside Natalia Reyes and Mackenzie Davis.

“I never felt so dear to my cast mates until I met Reyes and Davis. We created a very strong bond and we supported each other a lot. I admire them as artists and women, they are friendly, intelligent and caring. It was a blessing to meet these girls. I think Tim [Miller, o diretor] he knew how to get the best of us, he’s amazing too.

For those who haven’t watched, the film ignores the events of “Terminator 3” and all the other footage that followed, picking up the timeline after “The Final Judgment.”

The cast includes Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Edward Furlong and Diego Boneta.
