According to Collider, Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell were featured in director Todd Solondz’s new comedy titled “Love Child.”

The film is a modern and sour account of the classic Greek tragedy “Odipus the King”. In the project, the story is set in Texas and revolves around a precocious child who tries to get rid of his father to get his mother’s full attention. However, things don’t go as planned when a charming stranger shows up.

In an official statement, Solondz said, “This is my first movie with twists and my first movie set in Texas. It’s fun, it’s sultry, and it’s shaped by the Hollywood movies that made me a filmmaker. I have always loved the work of Rachel and Colin and I am honored to be able to work with them.

Weisz and Farrell worked together on Yorgos Lanthimos’ acclaimed feature film “The Lobster”.

The actress has appeared in a number of famous productions, including the first two franchise titles ‘The Mummy’, the adaptation of ‘Constantine’ and, most recently, ‘The Favorite’, for which she received another Oscar nomination. Her upcoming works include “Black Widow”, “Lanny” and “A Special Relationship” (the latter bringing the legendary Elizabeth Taylor to life).

The actor, in turn, will play the Penguin in the highly anticipated and ambitious ‘The Batman’. He is currently filming a miniseries called ‘The North Water’ and was also featured in the biopic ‘Columbus’. Her other credits include “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, “Minority Report” and “Artemis Fowl”.
