‘Lovecraft Country’: Michael K. Williams wins Best Supporting Actor at 2021 Critics’ Choice

HBO’s critically acclaimed horror series “ Lovecraft Country ” became one of television’s biggest hits of 2020 and continues to reap the rewards of its competent and engaging narrative.

At the 2021 Critics‘ Choice Awards, Michael K. Williams, who played Montrose Freeman in Season 1, won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his impeccable work.

Based on the book of the same name by Matt Ruff, the plot revolves around Atticus Black, a 25-year-old boy who, when his father goes missing, is dedicated to retrieving him with his friend Letitia and his uncle George. In the process, they face the horrors of racism in America in the 1950s, as well as evil spirits, and try to survive it all.

The cast includes Courtney B. Vance, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jurnee Smollett, Elizabeth Debicki, Aunjanune Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku and Jonathan Majors.
