On Rotten Tomatoes, the feature was 91% approved, with a rating of 7.30 / 10 based on 88 reviews to date. By general consensus, “‘Luca’ proves Pixar can play it safe while dazzling audiences of all ages.”

The film marks the directorial debut of Enrico Casarosa.
In the plot, two friends go on fun adventures through the most exciting landscapes of the Italian Riviera, as they also hide a secret about their true identity. After all, Luca Paguro and Alberto Scorfano are sea creatures that take human form on earth.
Jacob Tremblay gives the floor to the protagonist.
Jack Dylan Grazer (“Shazam!”, “It: The Thing”) and Emma Berman (“Dear Mum”) are also in the cast.
Grazer plays Alberto, Luca’s best friend, while Berman plays Giulia, a girl who becomes the tour guide and the new friend of the two strange visitors.
