Peacock has released the first trailer for “MacGruber”, a parody series of the classic “MacGyver”.
With Will Forte, production is set to premiere on December 16.
The cast also includes Sam Elliott (“A Star Is Born”) as Perry, MacGruber’s father, Laurence Fishburne (“The Matrix”) as General Barrett Fasoose, Joseph Lee Anderson (“Young Rock”) in the role of Major Harold Kernst, Kristen Wiig (“Wonder Woman 1984”) as Vicki St. Elmo, MacGruber’s ex-wife, and Billy Zane as antagonist, Brigade Commander Enos Queeth, an eccentric soldier and arrogant.
Directed by Jorma Taccone, the first season will consist of eight episodes on the Peacock streaming platform.
For those who don’t know, the series is based on a Saturday Night Live comedy setting, which was previously adapted from the feature film ‘Run the Agent’s Back’, released 10 years ago.
After rotting in prison for a decade, patriot and greatest American hero MacGruber is released. Your mission: to defeat a villain from the past: Brigade Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crossfire, McGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil – only to discover that the evil … could be inside.
