‘Mamma Mia!’ Star turned down Marvel role because he thought it would be a failure

Before Zoe Saldaña was cast as Gamora in “Guardians of the Galaxy”, the role was offered to “Mamma Mia!” Star Amanda Seyfried.

However, she revealed to the Hollywodd Reporter that she declined the offer because she believed the film would be a failure.

“I thought, ‘Is it worth it? The protagonists are a raccoon and a talking tree… “I was afraid to be a part of the first Marvel movie that would be a failure,” she said.

Additionally, the actress said that the character’s look was also a big factor that contributed to the decision as she didn’t want to spend hours putting on makeup.

“Several players have complained about the characterization process due to skin and eye irritation due to dye and lenses. I didn’t want to go through this, I didn’t want to sit for hours while someone painted me green.

Recalling that Saldaña will reprise the role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ‘.

According to the portal, filming of the production will not begin until the end of 2021.

This is the fourth MCU film with a production schedule slated for next year. January 2021 will begin with the recordings of ‘Thor: Amor e Thunder’, followed by ‘Black Panther 2’ and ‘Ant-Man 3’.

For now, Marvel Studios is continuing their work in the ‘Spider-Man 3’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ sequels.

In the recent past, James Gunn shared a series of images from the cast of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” as they prepared to rehearse.

In the pictures, the stars appear uncharacterized, seemingly examining the lines and knowing the plot in the early stages of production.

It’s worth remembering that the next chapter in the trilogy doesn’t have a preview yet, but it’s speculated that the sequel won’t hit theaters until 2023.

A few months ago, Gunn revealed to Comic Book that the sequel will be Rocket’s farewell to the big screen.

In addition, he is the only member of the Guardians not yet deceased. Groot sacrificed himself for the team, Gamora was killed by Thanos, and the other members “ died ” at the villain’s slam.
