“Midnight son”? The ‘Eternals’ post-credits scene may have indicated the team’s introduction to the MCU

The second post-credits scene shows Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) in an office, facing an old trunk bearing his family crest.

Visibly anxious, he doubts whether or not to open the box, but moves on.

Opening the chest, he is confronted with an ancient sword with an ebony blade, and when he touches it, a deep voice surprises him, asking if he’s ready for what’s to come.

According to CBR, the voice is none other than Mahershala Ali, already confirmed as the interpreter of Blade in the next remake of the vampire hunter.

But what does that mean?

In some Marvel comics, Blade is the leader of a team called Midnight’s Children.

Enjoy watching:

For those who do not know him, the group has several characters of a mystical nature, such as wizards, demons, monster hunters and immortal beings.

In the original material, they act as a Dark Avengers species, protecting the world from supernatural threats.

While Whitman was never a part of the team’s lineup in the comics, there is a possibility that he might become a member of eventual film adaptations, given the ebony sword’s divine origin.

Among his powers, he can transport his owner to the bodies of his ancestors to accumulate their strength and wisdom.

As it originally belonged to Sir Percival, Knight of the Round Table, and has been passed down from generation to generation over the 600 years to reach Whitman, the blade holds a powerful record against evil entities.

It certainly gives Whitman a place among Marvel’s most powerful characters, and surely Blade has to be on his trail to recruit him.

So, do you think Whitman will make an appearance in the Vampire Slayer movie?

Remember that “Eternos” is already screened in national cinemas.

Revision | Eternos is Marvel’s most artistic, complex and original film… for better or for worse!

‘Eternals’ follows the journey of quasi-immortal beings, products of the evolutionary divergence that gave birth to the human race millennia ago. The characters relate to several concepts already introduced in previous universe films, from the Celestials (who came out in “Guardians of the Galaxy”) to Thanos, whose own mother was one of his victims.

The cast also includes Salma Hayek (Ajak), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Gemma Chan (Sersi), Kit Harington (Black Knight), Barry Kheogan (Druig) and Richard Madden (Ikaris).
