After eight seasons on the air, the beloved comedy “Mom” has been officially canceled by CBS. The news comes months after Anna Farris left as Christy, one of the show’s protagonists.

Remember the trailer for the last cycle:

The series was created by Chuck Lorre (“The Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men“).

Christy is a single mother who has just come out of rehab and decides to get her life back in order. But her mother Bonnie, an alcoholic she hadn’t been in contact with for many years, resurfaces and makes the task even more complicated.

The cast also includes Allison Janney, Mimi Kennedy, Jaime Pressly, Kristen Johnston and Beth Hall.
