‘Monster Hunter’ disappointed at the US box office

Undermined by a new wave of US film closings, the “Monster Hunter” adaptation disappointed in its debut in the country, raising just $ 2.2 million in its first weekend.

Projections indicated a launch of around US $ 4 million in the North American market.

Despite the warm start, the feature film should benefit from the year-end festivities, which generally tend to take advantage of the box office. The adaptation, however, will face stiff competition with the release of the highly anticipated “ Wonder Woman 1984 ” next week, which will air simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max’s streaming service.

Remember that “Monster Hunter” hits theaters on January 14, and CinePOP was invited to interview the very sweet Milla Jovovich and her husband – and director – Paul WS Anderson.

They spoke about the new adaptation and also indicated if they would ever return to “Resident Evil”.
