While promoting “The Fast and the Furious 9,” Tyrese Gibson spoke to ComicBook.com about “Morbius” and confirmed that the film is on the MCU.

It didn’t take long for Sony to deny the news.

Studio staff have contacted the site and said the information is not valid.

Strange, because the trailer showed Michael Keaton reprising his role of Adrian Toomes seen in “Spider-Man: Back Home”.

Why is the studio keeping such a secret?

The adaptation of ‘Morbius’ is due out on January 28, 2022.

Watch the trailer:

Daniel Espinosa (‘Vida’) is responsible for the direction.

For those who don’t know him, the character first appeared in issue 101 of “The Spectacular Spider-Man,” released in 1971.
