“If you are a Mortal Kombat fan, you will have a lot of fun, because you will fill in the gaps with your pre-existing knowledge of the series and have fun with violence. But for the average viewer, there will be little reason to worry about what’s at stake here. Ultimately, that’s what 2021 Mortal Kombat comes down to: a solid video game adaptation full of fan service for gamers (stick with the post-credit scene) and a decent action flick for everyone. . », Mufaddal Fakhruddin, IGN Middle East

“The movie doesn’t focus on the drama of the characters, as they’re ninja-blooded boxers and green berets with robotic arms hitting invisible lizards and baby demons with bat wings. When not fighting, the characters argue and utter pseudo-spiritual expressions until it’s time to face each other again. Mortal Kombat is not for the most demanding palates ”, James Marsh, South China Morning Post

“As a film based on the popular video game, Mortal Kombat effectively brings the gaming world to the big screen with great care and attention to detail. The characterization and portrayal of the beloved fighters are quite close to their in-game counterparts, with clothing and fighting styles almost identical to that of the game. The look, sound effects, blood and action are exactly what. that fans have been looking for since the original 1995 movie and up. », A’bidah Zaid, Cultura Geek

“This is one of the rare times when you would like to have more visibility. Parts of this movie continue as if we are all preparing for this test. », Jonathan Roberts – The New Paper.

“Here, to take everything seriously, the only ones who won’t be bored are video game fans.”, Marcelo Stiletano – La Nación.

“Despite its fragile foundations, largely composed of a confusion of clichés that include prophecies and hard choices, the set works like a charm in the simple tone of the film.”, Víctor López G. – Espinof.

“Mortal Kombat manages to be a much more faithful adaptation than the original film, pushing the dead to the extreme onscreen and without fear of grading for adult audiences.”, Sergio López Aguirre – Cine Premiere

“Twenty-five years later, this new version brings little or nothing new.”, Ezequiel Boetti – Otroscines

“It’s a film that will certainly please many fans of the series.”, Alif Majeed – Battle Royale

“In short, for those who want a fun time, the best thing to do is turn on the video game, pick a fighter and spend two hours of his life fighting virtually.”, – Rolando Gallego

Mortal Kombat is a powerful stage display, with… nearly two hours of action. “- Pablo O. Scholz, Clarín

“Fans will be delighted to hear that the film is a very meaningful update to the 1997 film Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Fans can also look forward to the famous moves made by the characters in the video game franchise.” Bryan Tan, Yahoo! Singapore News

MMA fighter Cole Young, used to being beaten for money, is unaware of his legacy – or because Emperor Outworld Shang Tsung sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, a Cryomancer from another world, to hunt Cole. Fearing for the safety of his family, Cole sets out to find Sonya Blade and Jax, a special forces major who carries the same strange dragon that Cole was born with. Soon he finds himself in the temple of Lord Raiden, an ancient God and protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with seasoned warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and devious mercenary Kano, as he prepares to take on Earth’s greatest champions against enemies of Outworld in a high-risk battle across the universe. But will Cole be under enough pressure to unlock his arcane – the immense power in his soul – in time to not only save his family, but also stop Outworld once and for all?

The cast includes Joe Taslim (Sub Zero), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Mehcad Brroks (Jax) Josh Lawson (Kano), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Sisi Stringer (Mileena).

The new feature will be for over 18 years, with the promise of a lot of violence and death.
