Before the pandemic, a film could be considered a success if it managed to amass a huge amount of money at the global box office.

However, that idea has changed a lot since last year, as many cinemas still remain closed to prevent the spread of the disease.

And for some directors, the success of a film can be measured differently.

During an interview for the comic, Simon McQuoid, director of the new ‘Mortal Kombat’ explained what he thinks would make the film a success.

“Probably two years ago I would say the film would be a success if it managed to raise billions,” he joked. “But that’s no longer a determining factor.”

He continued:

“Do you know what really matters to me? Fan satisfaction! When fans finish watching a movie and praise it, it’s very gratifying. I think that we [cineastas] we are discovering new ways to measure the success of a film. What I do know is that “Mortal Kombat” honors the original material and I’m very proud of what I’ve done with the whole team.
