“Considering that the action is as bloody and violent as it should be, [o diretor] Simon McQuoid was so excited about his insistence on taking a fundamentalist approach to his film. (Casey Chong, Casey’s Movie Mania)

“Fans of the old Mortal Kombat video game franchise finally have reason to celebrate.” (James Marsh, South China Morning Post)

“Fans will be delighted to hear that the film is a very meaningful update to the 1997 Mortal Kombat Annihilation movie. Fans can also look forward to the famous moves the characters have made in the video game franchise.” (Bryan Tan, Yahoo! News Singapore)

“If you are a Mortal Kombat fan, you will have a lot of fun, because you will fill in the gaps with your pre-existing knowledge of the series and have fun with violence. But for the average viewer, there will be little reason to worry about what’s at stake here. Ultimately, that’s what Mortal Kombat 2021 comes down to: a solid video game adaptation full of fan service for gamers (stick with the post-credit scene) and a decent action flick for everyone. . (Mufaddal Fakhruddin, IGN Middle East)

“The movie doesn’t focus on the drama of the characters, as they’re ninja-blooded boxers and green berets with robotic arms hitting invisible lizards and baby demons with bat wings. When not fighting, the characters argue and utter pseudo-spiritual expressions until it’s time to face each other again. Mortal Kombat is not for the most demanding palates. (James Marsh, South China Morning Post)

“As a film based on the popular video game, Mortal Kombat effectively brings the gaming world to the big screen with great care and attention to detail. The characterization and portrayal of the beloved fighters are quite close to their in-game counterparts, with clothing and fighting styles almost identical to that of the game. The look, sound effects, blood and action are exactly what. that fans have been looking for since the original 1995 movie and up. (A’bidah Zaid, Geek Culture)

“Mortal Kombat (2021) doesn’t come without its hits. The reboot ranges from pacing issues and lack of character development to weird editing. However, despite the occasional banging, the movie still kicks in and comes out victorious in the end. (Sergio Pereira, fortress)
