Despite the skyrocketing box office numbers (even more given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic), the vaunted “007 – No Time to Die” did not make a profit for the studio. On the contrary, it was a loss!
According to a recent Variety poll, the production will lose more than $ 150 million to MGM and EON Productions, the companies responsible for the feature film.
This is due to both the project’s budget, estimated at $ 250 million, and the plentiful promotional material, which has also surpassed the $ 100 million mark due to constant delays (16 months, to be precise).
Reports indicate that in order for the studios not to suffer a loss, the financial income would need to be over $ 900 million.
However, “No Time to Die” ended its trip to theaters with “only” $ 734 million.
Cary Joji Fukunaga (‘Beasts of No Nation’) is in charge of the directing.
In the plot, the British secret agent leads a quiet life in Jamaica, after leaving active service. However, your peace has its days numbered, for a new mission is entrusted to you.
The cast also features the return of Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright, in addition to featuring Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek.
