According to Deadline, Netflix has acquired the rights to ‘CURS> R’, a new horror starring iconic Robert Englund, the eternal Freddy Krueger from the ‘Time of Nightmare’ franchise.

The site claims the streaming service paid a hefty “seven figures” for the rights to the feature.

Asa Butterfield (“Sex Education”), Iola Evans (“The 100”) and Eddie Marsan (“Ray Donovan”) also star in the production.

The plot follows a broke young woman after leaving college, who decides to play a sinister survival game in search of an unclaimed prize of $ 125,000. But when the game curses her, she is faced with dangerous choices and challenges that distort reality. After a series of unexpected terrifying moments, she realizes that she is no longer playing for money, but for life.

The cast also includes Angela Griffin, Kate Fleetwood, Ryan Gage and Joe Bolland.

Toby Meakins is in charge of the directing, from a screenplay written by Simon Allen.
