Continuing the year’s awards season, the Critics’ Choice Awards presented best in film and television – and “O Gambito da Rainha” continues its wave of accomplishments and accolades.
The Netflix production won the Best Miniseries statuette, while Anya Taylor-Joy won the Best Actress in a Miniseries award for her incredible performance as chess player Beth Harmon.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Walter Trevis, released in 1983.
What to do when all that’s left is victory? “O Gambito da Rainha” describes the rise of a young chess prodigy from orphanage to glory. But genius comes at a price.
Anya Taylor-Joy (“The New Mutants”, “Fragmented”) stars in the production. Bill Camp, Marielle Heller, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling and more complete the cast.
