Star Wars News Net has published some concept art from the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series and one of them shows the Jedi Master duel against Darth Vader.
Apparently, the couple are back on planet Mustafar, where Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) defeated his former apprentice years ago.
As shown in “Rogue One”, Vader came to live in a fortress on the volcanic planet.
As of yet, it’s unclear how and why Kenobi will return to Mustafar, but it is said in the original trilogy that he attempted to save Anakin (Hayden Christensen) from the light side of the Force when they last met.
It is therefore possible that the image refers to this meeting.
Recalling that the cast of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ also includes Sung Kang (‘F9’), Rupert Friend (‘Homeland’), Indira Varma (‘Game of Thrones’), Kumail Nanjiani (‘Eternals’), Moses Ingram ( “The Queen’s Gambit”), O’Shea Jackson Jr (“Straight Outta Compton”), Simone Kessell (“Reckoning”) and Benny Safdie (“Rough Gems”).
It should be noted that Hayden Christensen returns as Anakin Skywalker, with Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Luke Skywalker’s uncles, Owen and Beru Lars.
Previously, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to The Wrap that “Kenobi” would be a miniseries, with a predetermined beginning, middle, and end:
“It’s really exciting to see the talents involved here. And now we’re developing the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries with Deborah Chow and she’s done a phenomenal job.
Directed by Deborah Chow, “Kenobi” will only have six one-hour episodes.
For now, the first forecasts are only for 2022.
