Disney + took fans by surprise and announced the full cast of the upcoming targeted series ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’.
Along with protagonists Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), the series will also feature the return of Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, as Luke Skywalker’s uncles Owen and Beru.
Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”) was also previously announced.
New releases are the names of Moses Ingram (‘The Queen’s Gambit’), Kumail Nanjiani (‘The Eternals’), Rupert Friend (‘ Homeland ‘), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Den of Thieves), Sung Kang (‘ Fast and Furious 9 ‘), Simone Kessell (Reckoning) and Benny Safdie (Raw Jewelry).
Sadly, there’s still no idea who they should be playing at the attraction, but updates are expected to be released soon.
Recalling that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to The Wrap that “ Kenobi ” will be a miniseries, with a predetermined beginning, middle and end:
“It was very exciting to see the talents involved here. And now we’re developing the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries with Deborah Chow and she’s done a phenomenal job ”.
Directed by Deborah Chow, “Kenobi” will have only six episodes lasting an hour.
For now, the premiere is only for 2022.
