‘Panic’: David Arquette discusses the challenges of filming the film in the midst of a pandemic

The filming of the long-awaited sequence “Panic” took place in a delicate context of the pandemic, which made the work experience even more difficult, both for the actors and for the technical team. And according to star David Arquette, preparing to record his scenes was a real challenge, due to the constant use of the mask, which limited his facial expression.

During an interview with Radio Times, the actor commented on how difficult it was to record the production in a completely tumultuous and uncertain scenario:

“You rehearse while wearing your mask. And then, when it comes time to record your scene, you have to delete it, but this will be the first time that you have performed it face to face, without it. It always gives you that other layer of discovery, when you shoot a scene with someone and see that person’s face for the first time. There are some things that are very interesting, while others are already – obviously – quite comprehensive ”.

Arquette has spoken about the long-awaited new sequel to the “ Panic ” franchise, revealing that Ghosface will be wearing a more technological outfit in the next film in the saga.

“There are incredible details about Ghostface and his costume [no próximo filme]. There are technological advancements that you can use today and this new fabric is probably a bit more advanced than what we used in the early movies. I’m really excited about this and what the fans will find. “

He adds: “It was difficult to take over that role. We all loved Wes [Craven] and it was very important that we understand the vision of directors Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillett]. Wes inspired them to become filmmakers. They have truly honored their legacy and I think they have done a great job.

The long-awaited new sequel to the “ Panic ” franchise will be released on January 14, 2022.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gilett, from the hit “Bloody Wedding”, are leading the project. Kevin Williamson will be the producer.

The film saw its scenes shot from September 23 to November 17, for a total of 8 weeks. It is the same time of filming as the first film of the franchise, in 1996.
