Recently, producer Kevin Williamson revealed that the 5th film in the “Panic” franchise will look very different from the previous films.

The filmmaker guaranteed that the sequel will bring innovative elements that avoid the wear and tear of the slash horror genre, which has left fans very curious.

And it looks like the film will have the influence of horror films directed by Jordan Peele, which are highly regarded for the critical and unpredictable storylines of “ Corra ” (2017) and “ Us ” (2019).

In an interview for the comic, “Panic” directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett commented on the subject.

“We’ve talked a lot about Jordan Peele’s work because what he’s done is the closest thing to something we hope to do and love in terms of style,” said Gillett. “We thought of something tense and exciting and fun at the same time.”

The filmmaker was unwilling to reveal anything about what audiences might expect, but did indicate that the film promised to surprise and cause an uncomfortable sensation in audiences.

“We were very inspired by the feeling that ‘Us‘ conveys to audiences because this film has managed to capture people’s emotions in a very natural way. The plot has relaxing touches that distract you from what’s to come… It’s a very popcorn movie, but it’s still an eyesore. To us, that represents very well what Wes Craven has built in “The Nightmare on Elm Street” and the “Panic” franchise. ”

Recalling that the filming of the sequence ended in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The film saw its scenes shot from September 23 to November 17, for a total of 8 weeks. It is the same time of filming as the first film of the franchise, in 1996.

To celebrate, the cast released photos and videos from the farewell party.

Interesting. Jenna Ortega posted this and claimed the red bike was David Arquette’s. But apparently David finished filming a few weeks ago. Was this photo taken at the time? In that case, couldn’t Jenna go all the way? #Scream # Scream5 @jennaortega

The franchise’s first film debuted in 1996 and became an instant, groundbreaking classic that mixed elements of slasher terror with cinematic metalanguage. Directed by Wes Craven and scripted by Kevin Williamson, the plot focused on a masked serial killer known as Ghostface, who used slogans and creepy knowledge of genre productions to pursue his victims.

Together, the four iterations have raised more than $ 608 million at the global box office.
