Paramount GIVE UP to simultaneously shoot ‘Mission Impossible 7 and 8’

Paramount Pictures will no longer be filming ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ and ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ simultaneously, the deadline has revealed.

Writer and director Christopher McQuarrie intended to release the films with only a year off – in July 2021 and August 2022 – but the postponement of the films and the delay in filming meant that possibility was ruled out.

The problem is, star Tom Cruise will now have to leave on his ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ world tour promoting the July premiere, causing a scheduling conflict with the filming of the eighth film.

Production of “Mission: Impossible 8” will begin shortly after Cruise completes promotional duties for “Maverick”.

In a February 14 post on Instagram, McQuarrie confirmed the filming of ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ in the Middle East and said he would return to London for “some finishing touches” ahead of his “biggest challenge yet” , adding the hashtag “# MI7MI8”.
