According to Comic Book, the Paramount + streaming service will launch in the United States and Latin America on March 4.
The news was announced today by ViacomCBS, making official the transformation of the CBS All Access brand into Paramount +.
The merger of CBS and Viacom will allow the streaming platform to expand its library to include content from broadcasters such as Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount Pictures.
Ahead of its launch, ViacomCBS promises to offer an overview of Paramount + and will explain its strategy to investors in a presentation to be held on February 24.
In September of last year, Bob Bakish, president of ViacomCBS, had already discussed the strategy of renaming the brand to attract audiences.
“Paramount is an iconic historic brand loved by consumers around the world. It stands for quality, integrity and world-class storytelling. With Paramount +, we’re excited to create a global streaming brand based on the breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS catalog to deliver an extraordinary collection of content to suit all tastes. “
Marc DeBevoise, the company’s digital director, also celebrated the strategy:
“The response from consumers only in the first few weeks of the service’s expansion already shows the huge opportunity that awaits us when we bring these phenomenal brands of ViacomCBS together on one streaming platform under the new name Paramount +.”
In addition to announcing the rebranding, ViacomCBS unveiled a new set of original attractions scheduled for the service.
