‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise reboot already has a director, reveals Christopher Landon

Director Christopher Landon is writing the screenplay for the reboot of the “ Paranormal Activity ” franchise and revealed that Paramount already has a director for the project, but he couldn’t reveal the name.

Landon joked that the filmmaker on board the new film is a “partidão,” which sparked excitement over who could lead the new film in the Found Images franchise.

“I’m writing the new paranormal activity. We are restarting the franchise. I’m super excited for the director we picked, but I can’t say who it is because they won’t let me. He’s a guy. He is incredible! I think people are going to be really surprised at the direction we are taking. That’s the guy, ”Landon told Dread Central.

Landon directed ‘Paranormal Activity: Marked by Evil’ and was responsible for the scripts for the 2nd and 5th films in the franchise, but is not returning as director of the new production.

Paramount Pictures has scheduled the release of the new feature – still without a defined title – for March 4, 2022.

Details on the film’s plot or the filmmakers behind the business were not disclosed, but Paramount Pictures hired famed producer Jason Blum – owner of Blumhouse – to develop the seventh sequel.

“We’re teaming up with top horror producer Jason Blum to bring a new chapter to ‘Paranormal Activity’,” said studio CEO Jim Gianopulos.
