Research Finds Audiences Do Not Feel Safe Returning To Theaters Before Vaccine

Even during the Coronavirus pandemic, several cinema networks intend to reopen their doors in late 2020 and early 2021.

However, a survey published by The Hollywood Reporter found that the majority of the public is not ready to return to spaces until the vaccine is available.

Conducted by Morning Consult, the survey interviewed 2,200 people across the United States.

When asked if they intend to return to theaters as soon as theaters reopen, only 7% of respondents said they felt comfortable about it, while 65% responded “It is very unlikely”.

The researchers took it a step further and asked if anyone intended to return in 2020. Only 12% of the public said yes, and 37% did not.
