“Rua do Medo – Part 1: 1994” hit Netflix last Friday and surprised platform subscribers with the violence and bloody deaths caused by witch-manipulated assassins.

In the plot based on the work of RL Stine, a group of teenagers discover that a series of horrific events that have hit the town of Shadyside, Ohio, may not have been mere accidents – so they do. do their best not to become the next victim.

And it looks like the 2nd installment of the trilogy will be way more brutal and shocking, as director Leigh Janiak guarantees.

In an interview with Indie Wire, the filmmaker said that:

“The second part was shot last and I was already so tired, so tired, but every time there was a death scene I was like ‘No more blood, put more blood on it. ‘ The brutality has been taken to another level in this part.

Obviously, she did not go into details so as not to spoil the surprise, but she did promise that the sequel will bring more tributes to titles in the slasher genre.

“As soon as I got into the project, I was like, ‘These must be underage horror movies. I put myself in the shoes of a 10 or 11 year old who sneaks into a video store to rent movies I shouldn’t have had, like “Killer Toy”, “Friday the 13th” and ” The Nightmare Hour “. Do you know what these films have in common? Lots of blood, and we will bring many references from these universes.
