In a recent interview with Collider, iconic actor Sam Neill commented on his journey through the “ Jurassic Park ” franchise as Dr. Alan Grant – more than that, he revealed he learned to play the character only. in “ Jurassic Park III ”.
“For me, when I got to the third [filme], probably a little late, he had figured out how to play the character – something he hadn’t understood at first. I was still trying to figure out, how do you play the guy with the hat? Something that came naturally to Harrison Ford, but not to me. And something that Chris Pratt, a fantastic guy, thought a lot about and managed to do. And you have to think about how to do this. It’s a special skill. It’s not just about playing a character. He needs an arsenal of skills ”.
Recalling that Neill, alongside Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, returns to the franchise for the ‘Jurassic World: Domain’ climax.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Colin Trevorrow revealed some details about the new chapter and commented that he wrote the script with help from the cast.
“We wrote dialogues together and found ways to make sure that all of the actors, who are deeply associated with these characters that they played, not only feel respected, but dive headlong into who they would be now. “
Trevorrow also said that the new feature film will bring together the six films of the saga which began in 1993.
“For me, ‘Jurassic World: Domain’ is the culmination of a story that has been told. When you have the end of the “Jurassic Park” trilogy, you might not know what the story of the three films was, because there were more episodes in their approach. But this trilogy is not like that. It is more serialized. What is important to me is that when you watch ‘Domínio’ you really realize that you are going to learn the plot that set the stage for the first films and how everything that happened there influences. what’s happening now ”.
It’s worth remembering that the film’s premiere has been postponed until June 10, 2022 (one year after its initial release).
Find out who is confirmed in the cast:
Dr Alan Grant
Played by Sam Neill, Dr. Alan Grant was the main protagonist of Jurassic Park (1993) and Jurassic Park III (2001). One of the world’s foremost paleontologists, Grant specialized in the study of velociraptors, having worked on theories of reproduction, socialization, and vocalization of these animals.
Dr Ellie Sattler
Now an Oscar winner, Laura Dern will return as everyone’s favorite Paleobotany. She played Dr. Sattler in Jurassic Park (1993) and Jurassic Park III (2001).
Dr Ian Malcolm
The franchise’s most boring (and still right) character had previously appeared in a cameo in Jurassic World: Threatened Kingdom (2018). In the film, he appears giving testimony in the Supreme Court, speaking out against the rescue of the dinosaurs and claiming that the world will now be living in a new era. The return of Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) must bring a lot of sarcasm and chaos theory.
Joe Mazzello was a child star of the 1990s, who took on minor roles in recent years, and now has a chance to return to the limelight with his return as young Tim Murphy, one of John Hammond’s grandchildren, who survived the incidents at Jurassic Park.
Dr Henry Wu
Introduced as a secondary character in Jurassic Park, in the books we know the real importance of Wu. With the new franchise, the comic character Wong has gained relevance, becoming the big bad of the new franchise. This return could be his last appearance in the franchise, or he could keep running to continue creating dinosaurs left and right.
Having a small role in the first film, Dodgson is the chief engineer of BioSyn, a rival company of InGen, which wanted to steal embryos from Jurassic Park so his company could recreate dinosaurs as well. As animals roam the world, he, who will now be played by Campbell Scott, must play a key role in the plot.
One of the big draws of the new franchise is scientist Chris Pratt, trained in velociraptor. His return was certain since the first film and should now bring him a more “fatherly” role, given the events of Jurassic World: Kingdom Threatened.
Bryce Dallas Howard went from being a Jurassic World scientist / director to being a dinosaur rights activist in a movie. The evolution of the character is evident and we can expect it to develop even more for the third film.
The events of Jurassic World: Threatened Realm have taken little Maisie under the wings of Owen and Claire. She has the whole issue of cloning and genetic manipulation tied to her story and that can also be a big plot point.
Played by the monstrous Omar Sy, Barry is one of those dealing with the Velociraptors in Jurassic World. He has few scenes in the film, but his return indicates that the kidnappers will be an important part of the film.
Jake Johnson lived Lowery in the first Jurassic World. The character was the guy from TI, who served as a comedic relief. A fan of the original park, Lowery will return in a mysterious way. All that is known is that he survived the incidents at the park in 2015.
Another IT guy used as a comic relief, Franklin (Judge Smith) traveled to Nublar Island as a member of Claire’s NGO for Prehistoric Life and ended up being more disturbing than to help. Full of fear, he is afraid, but very good with computers.
Daniella Pineda’s paleovet was instrumental in the survival of Velociraptor Blue. Maybe his return has to do with a new job, maybe even something in government.
The T-Rex from Jurassic Park, which Colin Trevorrow says is the same as the one in Jurassic World is called Roberta. And she is more than confirmed in the third film.
Actress DeWanda Wise will star in the new Jurassic World.
Actors Dichen Lachman, DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze and John Flanagan have also been confirmed in the film, but in roles not yet defined.
