‘Secret Invasion’: Cobie Smulders RETURNS as Maria Hill in the Disney + series

According to Deadline, Cobie Smulders will return to live as Agent Maria Hill in ‘Secret Invasion,’ a new series from Marvel and Disney +.

The last time the character was seen was in “Spider-Man: Away from Home”.

Recently, the series got its first official image starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury:

Producer Jonathan Schwartz spoke to The Direct and revealed that the series starring Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) would not be an exact copy of the original material.

Much like the comic book, the adaptation will revolve around an investigation of the Skrull aliens who have infiltrated Earth and hold prestigious positions in government and even within the Hero Universe.

However, the filmmaker said that:

“I think like all of our adaptations, it’s definitely not an exact copy of the comics. While we did a lot of research before starting the project, it just works on its own, depending on what makes the most sense for the MCU. I think that’s literally all I can say at the moment. Let’s keep the Invasion secret a tight secret for now.

It’s still unclear what Clarke’s role will be in the production, but it’s worth remembering that Christopher McDonald, known for his work on “Happy Gilmore” and “The Iron Giant,” has also been confirmed in production.

Scheduled for release in 2022, “Secret Invasion” also features Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Colman, and Kingsley Ben-Adir also in the cast.
