The long-awaited sequel “Space Jam: A New Legacy” will be hitting national theaters soon, but it doesn’t seem to have quite appealed to critics.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the feature debuted with just 50% approval, scoring 6.30 / 10 based on 8 reviews so far. International pundits praised the production’s nostalgic atmosphere, but were divided over the narrative and messages created.

On a trip to Warner Bros. studios, superstar LeBron James and his son accidentally find themselves trapped in a world with all the stories and characters of the company, under the control of a powerful and troubled force called Al G (Don Cheadle). With the help of Bugs, LeBron must navigate a universe filled with movie scenes and iconic characters as the Looney Tunes come together to save their lost son. To return home, LeBron and the gang must unravel Al G’s mysterious plan and win an epic basketball game against game versions of NBA legends.
The cast includes LeBron James, Sonequa Martin-Green (“Once Upon a Time”, “Star Trek: Discovery”) and Don Cheadle.

LeBron James made his film debut in the comedy “Uncompensated,” playing a version of himself. He also already holds an Oscar for best animated short.
