In a behind-the-scenes video released by Sony Pictures, actor Alfred Molina commented on his return as villainous Dr. Octopus in the sequel “Spider-Man: No Return Home”.
“What I found most amazing about Tobey Maguire’s ‘Spider-Man 2’ was that Doctor Octopus had an incredible moment of redemption. Like all the great villains, including many from the universe Marvel, he reluctantly became a villain – almost by accident. When director Jon Watts described what my first appearance on ‘No Return Home’ would look like, I knew it would be completely shocking.
He adds, “I wanted to make sure I had the same tone as my previous performance, so I had to watch ‘Spider-Man 2’ again. But at the same time, he’s a different director in a different movie, so I didn’t try to replicate what I had done before. It was important to come and see this film as if it was my first time.
The theatrical hit “Spider-Man: No Back Home” managed to surpass the total box office of “Spider-Man: Away from Home” ($ 1.13 billion), becoming the BIGGEST box office of the year. Sony Pictures story.
In total, the feature film has already raised $ 1.16 billion worldwide.
