It has long been assumed that “ Spider-Man 3 ” will kick off Spider-Man’s live action in theaters and more news has been released today.
Alfred Molina has had his return as Dr Octopus confirmed, and Collider has stated that Andrew Garfield and Kirsten Dunst are already confirmed in the cast. Garfield played Peter Parker in both “ The Spectacular Spider-Man, ” while Dunst played Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s original trilogy.
The same Collider also revealed that Tobey Maguire is in negotiations with Sony to return as Peter Parker from the Sam Raimi trilogy, but the deal has yet to be finalized.
In addition to him, Emma Stone – who played Gwen Stacy in “ The Amazing Spider-Man ” – will likely rehearse her role as well, although the actress’ pregnancy may conflict with the set.
Dr. Octopus and Electro are back! What else do we want to see in ‘Spider-Man 3’?
Are you excited?
The film is set to follow Peter Parker’s new battle after being publicly exposed by J. Jonah Jameson at the end of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’.
The sequel’s premiere is still scheduled for December 17, 2021, but it is possible that with the postponement of production, the launch will be affected.
In addition to Tom Holland’s return as the titular character, Zendaya will reprise his role as MJ. And it’s very likely that a large chunk of the cast will return as well, including Marisa Tomei and Jacob Batalon.
Recalling that Amy Pascal will act as producer of the sequence alongside Kevin Feige, representing Sony and Marvel respectively.
