To verify:

And that’s the main unit WRAP of Season 1. We need a few pickup shots, most of which will be tackled this fall, but the lion’s share of our work is in the box. Thank you to our phenomenal team, thank you to Toronto, and thank you to our fans for their patience. We will see you again soon! @startrek #StarTrek

Babs Olusanmokun (‘Black Mirror’), Christina Chong (‘Tom and Jerry’), Celia Rose Gooding (‘Jagged Little Pill’), Jess Bush (‘Skinford’) and Melissa Navia (‘Billions’) were recently cast in production. The group joins Anson Mount already confirmed as captain Christopher Pike; Rebecca Romijn as number one; and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock.

Check out the first teaser below:

Jonatahn Frakes (‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’) enters as one of the directors.

Enjoy watching:

After locating Spock once lost, the season ended with the Discovery spacecraft and its crew traveling to the future, while Pike and the rest of the Enterprise remained behind. The new production will revolve around these adventures, “in the decade before the appearance of Captain Kirk”.

Franchise veteran Akiva Goldsman is writing the script for the pilot episode alongside Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet.

The trio also joins as executive producer alongside Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth.

For those new to the saga, Captain Christopher Pike appeared in the original 1960 series for one episode before being played by Bruce Greenwood in the JJ Abrams films. Number One, the ship’s second in command, appeared on the show a few times before being resurrected by Romjin last year. Spock, in turn, is one of the main characters in virtually the entire franchise – and few people are unfamiliar with the character.
