Steven Spielberg’s ‘Player # 2’ movie will have sequel, author reveals

The entertaining and praised “ Player No. 1 ”, a film directed by Steven Spielberg released in 2018, will have a sequel.

Author Ernest Cline, who wrote the book that gave rise to the film, ultimately released the sequel book and revealed that “ Player No. 2 ” was already in the early stages of its development into film.

“The film is in its early stages, especially since Hollywood is in limbo now. But I can say from the experience of making the first film that everyone had a great time. We talked about the possibility of having Player # 2 when we were doing Player # 1. And we’re going to do the new movie… ”Cline revealed to Inverse.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Tye Sheridan revealed he’s optimistic enough for a new chapter to come to life now that the original book has won the sequel:

“Recently, several people have asked me questions about ‘player number 1’. You know, “will there be a sequel?” I think everyone is well aware that [o autor] Ernie Cline will release the second book. But people keep asking me and I would love to answer everyone, but I don’t know what the plan is. My fingers are crossed, of course, I think it’s great and I loved working on the film, so I hope we can do another one ”.
