SUCCESS! “Godzilla vs. Kong ‘approaches US $ 200 million worldwide

“Godzilla vs. Kong ‘surprised and has already raised 193 million dollars on the international market. The success is mainly due to China, where the crossover raised an impressive $ 99 million.

Despite being released simultaneously on HBO’s streaming service Max, the film surprised the US box office, raising US $ 9.6 million on its first day of release on Wednesday (31) – which represents the BEST start in the country since the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020.

On Thursday, the film raised an additional $ 6.7 million, bringing its total to $ 16.3 million in two days.

Until Sunday, the film could make between 30 and 40 million dollars.

The previous record was from the “Wonder Woman 1984” sequel, which debuted with $ 7.5 million in December.

However, it should be noted that at present the population is already vaccinated against the virus in the country, and cinemas manage to operate at a greater capacity.

It should be remembered that the Regal movie chain has reopened to give people a chance to see it in theaters.
