‘Suicide Squad’: David Ayer reveals he made ‘incredible movie’ that scared Warner

In an interview with EW, director David Ayer went back on his desire for the Ayer Cut to launch “ Suicide Squad, ” saying his original take was very different from the end result we saw in theaters.

“I believe the studios are now realizing that there can be official and alternate versions, and fans want to watch them. They love the characters and want to spend more time with them. People are much more interested in the way movies are made and want to be a part of that journey. There is room for different things, different versions, to share with the public. I think it helps to strengthen our bond with the community. But I have to pay tribute to Warner Bros. to support Zack [Snyder] and have the courage to explore it.

He adds: “I understand that it’s part of the business, but it’s frustrating because I really did some deep drama and my version got destroyed, as they were trying to turn the movie into a ‘Deadpool’. – which was not meant to be. So I end up being guilty, because my name is there. While that doesn’t quite represent what I did, I have to face the ammo of the critics and be a good soldier. I made an incredible film, which ended up scaring the executives.

Sadly, WarnerMedia President and CEO Ann Sarnoff has revealed that she has no plans to launch Ayer Cut.

“We’re not going to release David Ayer’s version of Suicide Squad,” he said.

Ayer complained about the decision and told fans that the tone of the film was as dark as that of the famous and award-winning “ Joker ”.

“It was re-recorded, because the tone is ‘very dark’ – my first act was a normally produced film. I was inspired by [Christopher] Nolan. There were real scenes with amazing acting between Jared [Leto] and Margot [Robbie]. The Joker was scary and the Harlequin was complex, ”he wrote.
