According to R7, a 41-year-old woman identified only as Claudia murdered her own 65-year-old father, setting his body on fire after taking him out of a rehabilitation clinic in the town of Embu Guaçu, in Greater São Paulo.

The crime took place last Friday (09) and the court ordered the arrest of Cláudia, who remains at large.

Apparently, she had orchestrated the crime for around 11 years, when she told the family that she had been sexually assaulted by her father, Aparecido, as a teenager.

In the messages exchanged with her brother, everything indicates that she was inspired by the film ‘Sweet Revenge’, which tells the story of a young woman who tortures and kills the men who mistreated her.

During the conversation, she wondered if he had ever watched the movies with insistent curiosity, as if he didn’t care what was about to happen.

Not understanding the meaning of the message, the brother simply ignored her, but understood what she meant after the crime.

A resident of Manaus, Cláudia even helped pay for her father’s treatment, who had been admitted to the clinic for five years, and had already visited him twice.

However, she always treated him with affection, according to one of the clinic’s founders, who has been operating in the area for 14 years.

On the other hand, it was all part of the plan, which included getting him out of the clinic to live with her in order to facilitate the conclusion of the murder.

“She was still in love. He hugged, kissed, stayed with his father in his corner. He liked [da ideia de morar com ela]. We asked for his retirement, he was about to leave now. He said his dream was to retire and live with his daughter.

As Cláudia’s brother did not allow the transfer, she traveled to São Paulo to see her father again. After going to the clinic and inviting him for a walk outside, she set his body on fire while they were near a path and he couldn’t resist her injuries.

Due to the delay in returning, some clinic workers went to look for them, but they only found the father’s body, which was charred.

So far, civilian police have heard ten statements about the case.

One of them was granted by the mother of Cláudia’s mother, who offered her the house as soon as her daughter arrived from a trip. The Other was from an ex-boyfriend, who had loaned her money so that she could buy a ticket to São Paulo.

Testimonies can help officers find out the whereabouts of the murderer and whether it helped end the crime.

I remembered that “Sweet Vendetta” was released in 2010 and was a critical failure, registering only 32% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it became an instant classic and completely thrilled audiences.

The feature film directed by Steven R. Monroe gave two more sequels, released in 2013 and 2015.
