The biopic “ Eyes of Tammy Faye, ” based on the eponymous documentary released in 2000, has been granted a new release date: September 24, 2021.
The news was revealed by Searchlight Pictures. The film is a fictional production that promises to provide an “intimate perspective on the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of famous televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, which will be played by Jessica Chastain (‘IT: The Thing – Chapter 2‘).
Andrew Garfield plays Jim Bakker, Tammy’s husband, and is joined by a cast of Cherry Jones, Fredric Lehne, Mark Wystrach, Sam Jaeger, Gabriel Olds and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The film is directed by Michael Showalter (“Sick of Love”).
