‘The Electric State’: Millie Bobby Brown to meet Russian brothers for new sci-fi movie

According to Deadline, Millie Bobby Brown (“ Enola Holmes ”) will reunite with Joe and Anthony Russo for the new sci-fi “ The Electric State. ” The trio worked together on the critically acclaimed fantasy series “Stranger Things”.

The Russo Brothers will also be responsible for running the project, formerly at the expense of Andy Muschietti (“It: The Thing”), who left production due to scheduling issues.

Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to exhibit the film and has no plans to release it yet, as filming begins between late 2021 and early 2022.

Based on the graphic novel “ Tales from the Loop, ” by author Simon Stålenhag, which previously won an Apple TV + supervised anthology, “ The Electric State ” takes place in an alternate future where humans and robots live together in relative harmony – and a young teenager (Brown) realizes that her new robot friend has been sent to her by her missing brother. The two then set out on a mission to find him, uncovering a gigantic conspiracy along the way.

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (‘Avengers: Endgame’) sign the screenplay.
