In an interview with NME, director John Carpenter revealed that there are discussions about a possible sequel to the classic ‘The Fog’.

“There are conversations going on about ‘The Misty Killer’ footage. There are discussions about the sequel to several of my films, which have yet to take place for several reasons.

He adds: “But yes, we are talking about it and I am open to this possibility.”

Released in 1980 and written by Carpenter and Debra Hill, the original feature film was set in Antonio Bay, a fishing community, which is about to celebrate a hundred years of founding, but these days weird things happen then that the place is covered by a strange shining mist. Stevie Wayne, owner and operator of the local radio station, sees that something very serious is happening and is concerned to alert the population.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Adrienne Barbeau and Tom Atkins starred in the production.

It should be remembered that in 2005 a remake of terror titled ‘The Fog’ was released, but production failed at the box office (raising just $ 46.2 million worldwide) and was slaughtered by critics (only 4% approval on Rotten Tomatoes).
