“The Last of Us”: New footage shows building covered by Cordyceps fungus; To verify!

Via Twitter, a fan page dedicated to the new series “The Last of Us” posted new behind-the-scenes footage, showing Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Tess (Anna Torv) in the middle of a background covered in fog.

In addition, the walls of a building are ravaged by the Cordyceps fungus.

In addition to the trio, the cast also includes Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Jeffrey Pierce, Con O’Neill and Murray Bartlett.

The series stars Peter Hoar (“Daredevil”), Kantemir Balagov (“A Great Woman”), Ali Abbasi (“Sheiley”), Jasmila Zbanic (“Quo Vadis, Aida”), Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) and Neil Druckmann (creator of the game) as directors. Balagov orders the first two chapters.

The plot takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel, a surly survivor, is hired to get 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What started out as a small job quickly turns into a brutal and painful journey as the two have to cross the United States and depend on each other for survival.

The series was created by Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”), who is also a screenwriter and executive producer of the adaptation alongside Neil Druckmann.

For now, the release of “The Last of Us” is not yet scheduled.
