‘The Mandalorian’: director Robert Rodriguez reveals his REACTION by reading episode 06 × 02 script

The 6th episode of the 2nd season of ‘The Mandalorian’ is now available on Disney +, and fans were surprised by the long-awaited meeting between Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison).

Additionally, the plot ended on a bitter taste after the Imperial forces of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) finally managed to kidnap Grogu, the Baby Yoda.

During an interview with Collider, director Robert Rodriguez revealed his reaction to reading the script and said that he made a childhood dream come true by participating in the saga.

“When I was about 12, ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ came out and I’ve always been a fan of Boba Fett. When I saw this mysterious figure, I knew I had to find out what was behind this armor. Since then it was a childhood dream to participate in the saga and now I was able to do it.

He continued:

“When I was invited to direct ‘O Mandaloriano’ and saw that the script had ‘Boba Fett’, I was like, ‘This doesn’t sound like an official script, it looks like a fan has wrote this hoping his dream would come true ‘. But Dave [Filoni] and Jon [Favreau] made me believe that dreams can be realized.

Finally, he said he felt happy to bring Fett back in one of the best episodes of the entire series to date.

“I couldn’t believe I was going to make an episode so full of emotions and surprises. Working with characters like Gideon, Grogu, and Mando himself was surreal. And this Black Saber? This script had the best things I could hope for and exceeded my expectations. I can say that my 12 year old is proud of me. “

Check out the episode summary:

It all starts when Mando takes the little alien to the planet Tython so he can communicate with Jedi via the Force, leaving the hunter ecstatic to imagine saying goodbye to his companion.

Placing Grogu on the rock mentioned by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Din is confused when nothing happens. However, he notices a ship heading to their location.

As the vehicle approaches, the carcass of Slave 1, the ship used by Boba Fett in the Classic Trilogy, is revealed.

Trying to hide, Djarin realizes that Grogu was covered by some kind of energy field, so he couldn’t get away from him … There was no choice but to wait. to see who was on the ship.

After cornering Djarin, Boba Fett reveals that he came after Cobb Vanth’s (Timothy Olyphant) armor, and that the prop is rightly his.

However, Mando refuses to give up when he realizes that Fett never belonged to the Mandalorian Clan, which creates a dead end between the two.

That’s when Fett takes a surprise shot, saying that Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) was aiming a rifle at Grogu and would shoot him if necessary.

For those who don’t remember, Shand was injured by a guild hunter in Season 1, but it is revealed that she survived with Fett’s help and pledged allegiance to him.

Everything gets more intense when Imperial forces arrive after hunting down Razor Crest, triggering a firefight between those involved.

Taking the opportunity, Fett invades Crest and recovers his armor …

Proving that he is still a skilled warrior, he manages to defeat several stormtroopers and makes it clear that he has no connection to enemies.

During this time, Grogu finishes communicating through the Force and passes out; indicating that some Force users are now aware of its existence.

Upon discovering that Boba’s father, Jango, was a foundling, it is fitting that the armor belongs to him by right, so they form a momentary alliance.

After that, Fett and Shand swear to help Mando get Grogu back … So Fett ends up revealing himself as an anti-hero, and not as this villain from the original “Star Wars” trilogy.

Back at Gideon’s ship, the villain enters Grogu’s cell and sees the little one using the Force to push back the Stormtroopers near him.

At the end of the episode, Gideon orders his subordinates to contact the clone Dr. Pershing to inform him of the capture.

It could be that Grogu’s DNA is about to be used in an attempt to bring Emperor Palpatine back …

Recalling that the penultimate episode will be broadcast this week.
