Season 2 of “ The Mandalorian ” ended with an emotional farewell between Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, who was taken in by Luke Skywalker to begin his Jedi training.
Due to the strong bond created between the bounty hunter and the little alien since the first episode of the series, Pascal revealed to Indie Wire that it was very difficult to record and watch the moment of separation.
“The whole idea of playing someone who has never seen their face by someone else, but who gave up on that promise to have their face touched by the Child, is overwhelming, you know? “, He said, referring to the Mandalorian doctrine never revealing your identity.
He continued:
“After establishing Din’s willingness to keep his face covered, I knew it would be very exciting when people saw him abandon the doctrine of showing his face to Grogu. I knew what it would mean for everyone to witness this moment in between… Din tries to sound harsh, but he can’t help but cry. It was very personal for me, it was also Pedro Pascal’s tears there.
