‘The Northman’: Anya Taylor-Joy is proud to be part of Robert Eggers’ new film

In an interview with Collider, the incredible actress Anya Taylor-Joy (“ The Queen’s Gambit ”, “ The Witch ”) revealed some details about the upcoming project and Robert Eggers, “ The Northman, ” claiming that she was very proud to be a part of a movie like this.

“I must say that I am very proud to be part of this project. Every moment on the set makes me happy and we are going to introduce the world to something that has never been seen before and I feel very honored to be a part of it.

Taylor-Joy also told us a little bit about her experience on the set, saying that when people came to ask her what they were doing, she was straightforward and down to earth.

“People have asked, ‘Ah, this is a real Robert Eggers movie.’ And I said, “Yes. Let’s be cold. We will never be comfortable. And it will be incredible ”.

The cast also includes Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Kate Dickie, Bjork and Willem Dafoe.

The story is described as a Viking saga set in Iceland around the 10th century, which will involve a journey of revenge.

Eggers is also in charge of the screenplay alongside poet and novelist Sjón.

In an interview with Screen Daily, cinematographer Jarin Blaschke gave details of the terror:

“This film will be bigger than the previous ones. I can say it will be a Viking revenge plot and we will be filming in Europe. It will be dark and violent.

He continues, “I think Eggers thinks he needs to do a trilogy. “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse” explore our perspective on New England tales. These three films are definitely linked at this level.

“ The Northman ” is released in 2021.
