In the new version, the character is described as “a kind and witty woman who has a complicated romantic affair with Professor Utônio. Always a friend of the Powerpuff Girls, she has remained close to them since childhood.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that Tom Kenny – narrator of the original series – will also be responsible for the live-action series narration.

Diablo Cody (“Hell Girl”) and Heather Regnier are responsible for the script for the pilot episode.

Based on the Cartoon Network animated series, the production will feature the trio of heroines in their twenties, who now regret having spent their childhood fighting criminals. The question is whether they will swallow their resentment to come together and save the world when it needs it most.

Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden join them as executive producers.

Created by Craig McCracken, the original animation followed three students created by Professor Utônio when he accidentally mixed sugar, spices and everything good with the X element.

Aired between 1998 and 2005, the series ran for 7 seasons and 78 episodes in total. In 2016, an animated reboot was created, introducing a fourth overpowered girl to the group, which spanned three seasons.
