‘The Resident’: Anuja Joshi joins the regular cast for season 5
According to Deadline, Anuja Joshi, who plays Dr. Leela Devi in ”The Resident”, has been promoted to the regular cast for season 5 of the series.
The character was introduced in season four, proving to be an awesome doctor as she battled her dyslexia.
Keep in mind that Shaunette Renee Wilson will not be returning for the next cycle. Morris Chestnut, despite having left the production’s regular cast, will return on a recurring basis.
The series was created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi.
The plot revolves around Dr Devon Pravesh (Dayal), an idealistic young doctor who begins his first day under the supervision of a bright and austere senior resident, revealing the good and bad sides of modern medicine. Lives may or may not be saved, but expectations will always be shattered.
It stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Jenna Dewan, Shaunette Renee Wilson and Bruce Greenwood.
