The screenwriter did not like the title of “Batman vs Superman”: “I do not know who chose …”

In an interview with Vanity Fair, screenwriter Chris Terrio, who won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for ‘Argo,’ blew up Warner Bros. and revealed that he didn’t like the title chosen for “Batman vs Superman”.

Terrio confirmed that he did not choose this title and that he does not like it.

The screenwriter didn’t reveal what he would have liked the film to be called, but instead noted that the title feels more like a WWE showdown than a movie.

“I wrote the sketches for the movie Batman / Superman, which was not called ‘Batman vs Superman: The Awakening of Justice’ by me. I did not name the script. I actually found out what the movie was called with the rest of the world on the internet. I was not consulted on the title of the film and I was as surprised as anyone. I wouldn’t have called it “Batman vs. Superman: Awakening Justice,” “Terrio confirmed to Vanity Fair.

He added, “I’m not sure who named him exactly, but I suspect it was the studio and I suspect it was marketing, to be honest with you. This may have been the first step in creating ill will for the film. I suspect that putting the words “Batman” and “Superman” in the title had a marketing component. “

Terrio claims studio executives ordered 30 minutes of the film to be cut from the final edition, sabotaging the production narrative – which was ultimately responsible for many negative reviews.

“If you took out 30 minutes from ‘Argo,’ like they did in ‘Batman vs. Superman: Origin of Justice,’ it wouldn’t make sense. Critics would say, “What a lazy storyline,” as the characters would have no motivation and would not be cohesive. And I totally agree with them, ”says the screenwriter.
