“The Suicide Squad”: Polka Dot Man is Deeper and More Complex than It Looks, Says David Dastmalchian

David Dastmalchian has played some DC Comics characters in film and television, as the Joker’s henchman in “Batman: The Dark Knight” and Abra Kadabra in “The Flash” series.

This time, he will bring Polk Dot Man, or Polka Dot Man, to life in ‘The Suicide Squad’.

During an interview with the Comic Book, the star gave some details about the character and he seems to be deeper and more complex than it looks.

“Abner [alter-ego do vilão] he’s a really wonderful character and I’m ashamed that I don’t remember him in the comics my memory kinda failed before I took on the role. But I think it’s amazing because I feel like there’s a relationship between us in some parts of my life that I’ve never enjoyed, you know? And this character made me see them in a powerful and interesting way, which made my relationship with my friends and family stronger.

When asked if this connection was a good thing, Dastmalchian was a mystery:

“Just say his name out loud. He’s someone who doesn’t command a lot of respect if you look superficially. I think he’s someone who’s never found much connection with people because of some things that I can’t discuss right now, but also because he’s the polka dot man.

He continued:

Enjoy watching:

“When you’re among exceptionally talented people of varying degrees of strength or whatever your abilities, going unnoticed is a godsend. But they are also people who can be sacrificed in the accomplishment of their mission, which can be scary… But not for Abner, because he always felt that way.

Apparently, Polka Dot Man could play a much bigger role than fans might imagine.

Maybe director James Gunn is hiding something surprising that will make fans’ heads explode.

So, are you looking forward to it?

Recall that ‘O Esquadrão Suicida’ will be released in national cinemas on August 5.
