The acclaimed documentary series ‘The Tiger Mafia’ became a huge hit at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

And after the launch of a new special episode and a lot of speculation, the original Netflix production should finally win a second season. The news was shared by the What’s on Netflix portal.

According to the publication, John Reinke and James Garretson, two key figures who have come to have direct involvement with Joe Exotic, have suggested that a “new season” is coming soon. Both are among the sources interviewed for the first season.

No official information from Netflix has been released yet, but Garretson has even suggested that a new round will be launched between March and April 2021.

The documentary series was watched by more than 34.3 million different accounts in the United States in its first 10 days of launch “The Tiger Mafia”.

By comparison, the third season of “Stranger Things,” one of the streaming service’s most popular productions, garnered 36.3 million views over the same period nationwide.

It should be remembered that, according to Variety, Nicolas Cage will play Joe Exotic, in a new television series created by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.

The series will consist of eight episodes and will be based on the article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into The World Of A Man gone Mad” by Leif Reigstad.

In the world of big cat owners, reality goes beyond fiction. And Joe Exotic, a charismatic polygamous country singer who owned a zoo in Oklahoma, is one of the most eccentric figures in this universe. Joe and an incredible cast of characters – including even drug lords and cult leaders – have one thing in common: a passion for big cats and the status and attention their collections garner. But when her lucrative business is threatened by Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist and owner of a big cat shelter, the situation gets out of hand. The growing rivalry between them culminates in the arrest of Joe, accused of hiring a murderer to kill Carole, and the criminal investigation ends up revealing a surreal story in which the wildest animal is the human being.
