‘The Walking Dead’ actor to star in new Dracula movie with ‘Autopsy’ director

According to Deadline, Corey Hawkins (“ The Walking Dead ”) will star in the horror “ The Last Voyage of the Demeter, ” which will make the iconic Dracula an antagonist. The film will be directed by André Øvredal, director of “The Autopsy” and “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”.

Zak Olkewicz (‘Bullet Train‘) is responsible for the latest version of the script.

Demeter is the name of the ship that transported the Dracula from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker’s book.

The screenplay was originally written in 2002 by Bragi Schut (“Witch Hunt“), and has been in development for years – with input from several directors over time.

The plot revolves around the voyage of the ship carrying Dracula, in which the crew begins to be brutally murdered.
