‘The Wheel of Time’: Amazon Adaptation Gets AWESOME New Teaser; Check out!

On Twitter, Amazon posted the new official teaser for the upcoming adaptation of “The Wheel of Time”, based on the novels by Robert Jordan.

Rosamund Pike (“Exemplary Girl”, “Pride and Prejudice”) was chosen in June to play protagonist Moiraine Damodred, a member of an organization known as Aes Sedai. She is the head of a group of adventurers whose mission can change the world forever.

Alexandre Willaume (‘Tomb Raider’) will be the interpreter of Thom Merrilin, a traveling artist who joins the protagonist in his journey at the beginning of the first book. Johann Myers will play the role of Padan Fain, a clever and treacherous trader who will cross paths with characters to gain personal benefits.

The cast also includes Madeleine Madden, who will bring Egwene Al’Vere to life; Marcus Rutherford, who will be Perrin Aybara; Barney Harris, who will play Mar Cauthon; Zoë Robins, who will be Nynaeve; Josha Stradowski, who will bring Rand Al’Thor to life; and Daniel Henney, who will be al’Lan Mandragoran.

Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier, Emmanuel Imani, Hammad Animashaun, Álvaro Morte, Pasha Bocarie, Jennifer Preston, Izuka Hoyle, Sophie Okonedo, Kae Alexander, Clare Perkins, Peter Franzen and Kate Fleetwood are also part of the cast.

This fantastic epic takes place in a world where magic exists, but is used only by women. The plot revolves around Moiraine, belonging to the women’s organization known as Aes Sedai, and her trip around the world in which she is accompanied by five young men and women. Moiraine believes that one of them may be the reincarnation of a powerful creature, whose prophecies indicate can save or destroy mankind.

Rafe Judkins is responsible for the script. For now, the first season will be based on “ The Eye of the World, ” the opening volume in a series of fourteen novels released between 1990 and 2013.

‘The Wheel of Time’ does not yet have a release date set.
